That was the published lead when Jack opened the business
“for business investigations”. That was over ten years ago.
By 1994 he already had over twenty-three years conducting investigations
as part of The Thin Blue Line, finishing as a detective sergeant in Financial
Crimes at the Chicago Police Department, and almost five years as a manager
in Business Investigative Services at the public accounting firm Coopers
& Lybrand. Jack is an accounting school grad from DePaul University
and a certified fraud examiner. He and his colleagues all testify under
oath as expert and/or fact witnesses.

Dave Edison has a long professional association with Jack. They were rookie police officers together in 1966, part of The Thin Blue Line. The connection continued through their years in the Chicago Police detective division, including their years together in the Financial Crimes Unit.
Chris Zousias-Bezanis started working business fraud cases
with Jack in 1990 at the public accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand.
She is also a DePaul accounting school graduate and is a CPA. After working
in the audit and tax practices, Chris decided she preferred forensic investigative
accounting work. Chris testifies as an accounting expert.
Kevin Petrelli (ps.) joined the firm in 1999 and has been an
investigator since graduating from Indiana U. in 1997. His education is
in political science and research, with a business focus. Kevin’s
work includes financial investigations, accounting tech work, general
legal and electronic-research assignments.
Tara Murphy joined the firm
in 1995 after graduating from Eastern Illinois U. As Jack’s and
Alana’s daughter, she has been exposed to ‘the investigative
process’ her whole life. Her major courses in speech communications
and conflict management and research fit as investigative tools. Jack
taught her the accounting tech side of business.
Donna Walsh left 'the job' with
The Thin Blue Line after 25 years. The
last decade she was a Chicago Police violent crimes detective. She has
had a long relationship with the Burkes and asked Jack to work cases.
She is a disarming interviewer. Her college degree is in English.
Alana Burke also had twenty-three years on The Thin Blue Line. She worked delicate child sex abuse cases and handled police ethics investigations as a sergeant. She has a master's degree in guidance & counseling from Loyola University. She and Jack were married in 1970.
